Rabbits/Cavies
The 4-H rabbit project is ideal for young people in urban areas or on small farms where lack of space, facilities, or money makes it hard to raise larger animals. Rabbits enable kids to gain experience in feeding and managing animals for fun, companionship and profit.
The Hare Raisers raise and show rabbits as a hobby! We take our rabbits to 4-H and ARBA shows all around the state, participate at the Otsego County Fair (make project books, show, do showmanship, make group and individual projects, etc.), we do crafts and try to make learning all about rabbits fun! The ages in the club range from cloverbuds (under 9) to teenagers and experience levels from beginner to advanced. If you don't own a rabbit, someone in the club is always willing to bring one to meetings and fair as a loaned rabbit. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!
